Topics include: Trauma Informed Care Approaches
Sector(s): This is a full-day session for Behavioral Health.
We would like to invite all of you to our two scheduled trainings taking place in August. Frontier Behavioral Health and Better Health Together will be hosting these two separate trainings for Trauma-Informed Care. Both trainings will take place at the Philanthropy Center.
Behavioral Health Training – Tuesday, August 20th, from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm
SDOH/Physical Health Care Training – Thursday, August 22nd, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Trauma is a nearly universal experience. More than half of the general population and 90 percent of those served within the public mental health system have experienced trauma.
Trauma’s capacity for altering everything about a person, from worldview to coping skills, is why Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) and other healthcare providers nationwide have integrated the principles of Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) into their organizational practices and service delivery models.
In 2015 FBH was selected, along with 20 other behavioral health providers from around the country, to participate in a year-long TIC Learning Collaborative. Since that time numerous TIC concepts have been implemented throughout the organization. FBH is excited to share with community partners the story of our journey in becoming Trauma-Informed, including strategies we have employed and lessons learned.
CMTV will be live streaming this training and it will also be available through our website.
