Vice Chair, Board of Directors
Beverly Sarles
Coalition Coordinator, Pend Oreille County Counseling Services
She/Her
Beverly was born and raised in the Midwest. I am from a large family. Three of my siblings were enlisted in three different branches of the military: Air Force, Marines and Army. After graduating from high school, I started my career in public service while attending college in downtown Chicago. I made a big leap of faith to move to the Pacific Northwest where I have lived for over 20 years.
As a board-certified Substance Use Prevention Professional she currently works for Pend Oreille County Counseling Services as a Coalition Coordinator for the Community Prevention Wellness Initiative (CPWI), where our Coalition members are representative of the diversity of our community. Through a needs assessment and a data-informed approach, we can identify disparities then successfully implement programs and strategies that ensure or improve access, retention, and cultural relevance in a manner that meets the needs of all racial/ethnic, minority, and other diverse populations, as well as underserved people within our community. We know that using evidence-based substance use disorder prevention strategies will help our community reduce underage drinking and other substance misuse and abuse among our youth population, resulting in long term outcomes of fewer young people experiencing related problems of juvenile delinquency, mental health conditions, and academic failure.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
