Stephaine Courtney is an art activist, educator, and owner of The Shades of Motherhood Network and The Learning Project Network LLC. She is passionate about using creative methods to address social justice issues. Courtney has a degree in English and a Master’s in Education. She has received specialized training in African-American postpartum care and Perinatal mental health. Courtney has created four multicultural Step teams in Spokane, WA, focusing on principles such as bravery and creativity. These teams have made a positive impact in the community by performing at social justice events and participating in outreach events. The Washington Step Team Alliance project, led by Courtney, won the Chase Youth Awards in 2023, aiming to help students become active leaders in their communities.
