BHT Team News

The Board announced this month we would launch a targeted recruitment effort to fill open seats for our Rural Public Health and Managed Care representatives. As part of our Medicaid Waiver’s governance obligations, we must have specific sectors represented on the Board. This ensures appropriate cross-sector stewarding of the taxpayer-funded Medicaid dollars. BHT will prioritize BIPOC representation, gender diversity, people with lived experience, and age diversity for service on the Board. These two appointments will be a modified term running until the formal end of the Medicaid Waiver.

Additionally, as part of our BHT Sustainability Work, we will be revisiting our governance structure. We will have an eye toward ensuring the folks serving on BHT’s Board match our belief that we need multi-sector solutions—grounded in health equity and anti-racism practices—for everyone to be healthy.
