BHT Board Approves Equity Funding
/Equity Projects
Better Health Together’s Board recently approved final strategy and funding allocations to support the Collaborative Equity work.
They have committed $1,205,000 towards our rural counties. Each Collaborative member will receive $15,000 ($105,000-180,000 per Collaborative). The remaining $500,000 will go towards the Spokane Collaborative and their Equity Projects.
Rural Collaborative Equity Projects
Adams - Reducing gender disparities for access to preventative care
Ferry - Reducing amount of pregnant women on Medicaid using tobacco
Lincoln: Increasing access to mental health services for low-income adults making less than $25,000 per year
Pend Oreille - Youth Mental Health by grade
Stevens - Reducing amount of pregnant women on Medicaid using tobacco
Spokane Collaborative Equity Projects
Reducing Child Abuse and Neglect
Access to Affordable Housing
Access to Behavioral Services
Equity Assessment
The Board has committed $900,000 that will be used to pay 60 Collaborative Partners, who are not behavioral health and primary care providers, $15,000 each for completion of equity assessment and milestone achievement. So far we have had over 1,200 individuals take the Equity Assessment, representing over 50 organizations.
TA Bank
Additionally $280,000 has been allocated into a TA Bank. This will be a group of consultants and individuals who have a skillset for training and facilitation on the health equity related work. Partnering organizations will be able to access this TA Bank to help further their training and knowledge on Health Equity.
