October Technical Council Activity Summary
/Board of Directors - 10/3
Our October Board meeting had a big focus on Equity and how we will address Health Equity. Our Board spent the morning working through Equity strategy and reflected on some of the lessons learned. The Equity work and reflection laid the groundwork for a presentation on Spokane and Rural Collaborative Equity projects, as well as budgeting for them in the 2020 fiscal year.
We recognized our retiring Board Members Torney Smith and Tom Martin. Both of them have spent the past few years on our Board helping to drive change in our community, and we couldn’t be more thankful for their commitment to healthcare in our city.
The rest of the meeting focussed on Medicaid Transformation, with an overview of our three-pronged strategy investment. Our areas of focus will be Behavioral Health Access Data, Telehealth, and the Multi-Sector Criminal Justice Pilot.
Waiver Finance Workgroup - CANCELLED
Waiver finance will resume in November.
Community Voices Council - 10/22
In October, we welcomed and introduced our two newest community voices council members Nuha Adam and Natasha Morales.
Our first guest presenter was Kelli Miller from Frontier Behavioral Health. She presented on Care Coordination. She more specifically spoke on how Frontier Behavioral Health assists patients with high needs, how a patient can access services, and who is eligible for their services.
Next, Shanda Blunt from Amerigroup presented on Care Coordination as well. More specifically she explained what an MCO is, how to get connected to one once you get AppleCare, and how to find out where to get healthcare or services. Reese ended the meeting, presenting council updates and edits to CVCs onboarding packet to further discuss and review content. We are hoping to have a final CVC onboarding power point completed by December.
Tribal Partners Leadership Council - CANCELLED
TPLC will resume as regularly scheduled in November.
