BHTBoard of Directors is a leadership board with the final governance authority for our region’s ACH efforts as well as overall fiduciary and strategic oversight for all aspects of BHT including the Community Care Hub. This multi-sector, highly accountable structure provides the ability to move efficiently on opportunities and demonstrates a commitment to co-investing in activities for our organization. 

For this round of Board recruitment, we are seeking nominations to fulfill contractual obligations of the Medicaid waiver for:  

  • Health system Representative (Federally Qualified Health Centers, Hospital networks, direct health service organizations etc) 
  • Health Plan/Managed Care/Payer Representative

Position Description, Committment, and Terms of Service

For this round of Board recruitment, we are asking for applications for:  

  • Health system Representative (Federally Qualified Health Centers, Hospital networks, direct health service organizations etc) 
  • Health Plan/Managed Care/Payer Representative

2026 Board of Directors Recruitment Packet

Board members will be selected based on the following: 

  • Health system representative or health plan/Managed Care Payer representative
  • Senior level executive, with ability to align individual organizational resources to meet BHT goals 
  • Respected community leader, with ability to cultivate, inspire, and influence other leaders in their sector as well as align resources and efforts 
  • Visionary yet practical leader that will move BHT’s efforts from concept to action 
  • Ability to balance organizational needs with the community’s best interest 

Board Commitment & Terms of Service 

  • Board meetings occur quarterly and run from 9am-3pm. There is an annual 1-day retreat that may run longer than the typical 9am-3pm time.  
  • Board meeting preparation requires 1-2 hours a month to read through packet details, office hours are available for additional support (1 hour/month). 
  • Board members are required to also serve on at least 1 committee. Committee requirements vary, but average at about 2 hrs/month commitment.  
  • Board members serve a term of 3 years  
  • Annually, Board members will complete a self-assessment on their participation and experience on the board. BHT will request feedback from partners, and other community stakeholders about the effectiveness of the governance and programmatic structure of the organization. 

Expectation of Board members: 

  • Provide an objective view on the Managed Care or Health System environment, not solely representing their organization’s interests 
  • Provide strategic guidance on issues critical to improving health in our region based on their experience, expertise, and perspective 
  • Approve organization decisions, seeking feedback from community governance through BHT and other entities representing their sector 
  • Understand the duty of care, loyalty, and trust on the BHT Board of Directors (see code of ethics) and align with BHT’s antiracist values
  • Provide fiduciary, and strategic oversight over BHT’s programmatic efforts 
  • Communicate with members of their sector and community partners to ensure effective information flow and strong engagement on matters related to the organization 
  • Proactively solicit input, seek feedback, and update organizations within their sector 
  • Disclose differences of opinion or disagreements within their sector 
  • Disclose any substantive or perceived Conflicts of Interests as it relates to decisions affecting their sector and/or the organization 
  • Sign any applicable Board membership documents, including the Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality policies
