HCA Update: New state map highlights tribal and Indian health care partners in ACH regions
/The Health Care Authority’s Office of Tribal Affairs has unveiled a new state map showing the boundaries of tribal government jurisdictions, and locations of Indian health care providers within counties and Accountable Community of Health (ACH) regions. The map highlights the importance of tribal communities as partners in Medicaid transformation across the state.
Tribal Affairs Administrator Jessie Dean explained that the purpose of the map is “to help people see the interconnections among tribes, as both health care providers and sovereign nations, and the ACHs – all of which are working toward better health for the people of Washington.”
“Given the small size of this map,” Dean noted, “we did not include the 29 different tribal service delivery areas, which in some cases, extend across multiple ACH regions.”
